ROCHESTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

It was my great pleasure to photograph Rob and Lauren’s Wedding in Rochester recently. Having met them a couple of months before, we had talked about how they wanted their wedding day to unfold. As a couple who are not comfortable being in the spotlight, they wanted to keep their wedding small and intimate with only their nearest and dearest present. They chose to marry in Rochester registry office with a small reception in local Bar and Restaurant George Vaults.

I know through talking to my sisters, both of whom have recently tried to plan a wedding, that keeping things simple, is not in fact simple at all and I really admired the way that Rob and Lauren had been absolutely true to themselves in the way they chose to tie the knot.

I spent the afternoon with Lauren as she enjoyed being pampered by professional make up artist Gemma Turner at Beautiful You and her sister Danielle who did Lauren’s hair. I love this part of the wedding day, as the anticipation builds, and sure enough the butterflies began to build in Lauren’s stomach, going into overdrive when she heard the car arrive to take her to the registry office. Lauren travelled in style to Rochester in the back of the most beautiful purple Mustang.

I think every bride and groom eagerly keeps an eye on the weather in the run up their wedding, hoping for that perfect sunny day, but this was the wettest day of year so far. However, even the constant rain could not wash the smiles from Lauren and Robs faces, as they tied the knot, and enjoyed what was a really lovely and special day, shared with friends and family.

I left them to enjoy their meal in the cosy atmosphere of the candlelit vault, beautifully decorated with lovingly handmade details by Lauren.
